AWAA Partners with Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company to Celebrate AAPI Culture Through Dance & Wine

AWAA is thrilled to partner with the Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company and the Oxford Community Center for a unique evening bridging performance art, storytelling, and wine on October 9th in Washington, D.C.!

Join us for an intimate look into the life and creative work of internationally acclaimed choreographer, author, and cultural ambassador Dana Tai Soon Burgess. Together with company members from D.C.’s preeminent contemporary modern dance company, Burgess will share insights into his career, his multicultural Korean and Scottish-Irish heritage, and the experiences that inspire his moving choreography.

The evening will feature wines from AWAA Member RD Winery, Napa Valley’s first Vietnamese-owned winery, providing guests with an opportunity to experience AAPI heritage through wine alongside Burgess’s powerful exploration of identity and culture through dance.
